In the recent years, we heard a lot about the negative impacts that the conventional sources of energy are extremely scarce and there is a need to search for some forms of renewable green energy.  At the same time, people are getting more aware of the pollution and damages that burning fossil fuels can cause to the environment.  We will have to start looking into changing the way we consume fossil fuels like gas, oil and coal.

If we continue to use the fossil fuels the way we have been, we are going to face huge challenges with environmental problems.  There are a few renewable green energy options that we can all be aware of.  The most important options are solar power, wind power and marine power.  Besides getting into these options, we will also need to find ways to reduce consumption of fossil fuels as there is the only way that we will have any environment left.

We need to start using renewable green energy before it becomes too late to do so.  According to the climatologists, global warming is happening with full force and it is we humans that have caused much of the problems.  The sun warms the earth and the gases such as carbon dioxide trap the heat in the atmosphere.  Burning coal and oil releases extra carbon dioxide creating the greenhouse effect and overheating the earth.  We don’t mind to live in a place where it is a few degrees hotter. However this is really a big problem causing changes in seasons, destroying plant and animal life, as well as causing deadly heat waves and the warming up of the artic circle.

By using renewable green energy like solar power and wind power, we will be essentially reducing the global warming effect as the amount of fossil fuels being burned will be cut down. Solar energy is a renewable and sustainable resource that uses the sun radiation to generate power and energy. Technologies that exist currently use solar collectors that provide water collectors at low temperatures, and buildings are now being designed to take advantage of passive solar features that allow solar energy to contribute to their heating requirements. In today’s society, people are using small solar collectors in a number of countries to provide hot water to their homes. As Americans we need to do these ourselves because at this point of time, countries such as Australia and Japan are taking full advantage of renewable green energy, and climate change is a worldwide problem so we should all make a contribution too. 

Recently, when traveling in Europe, I thought I would take a look at the well-known energy efficient house in Vienna.  The house has outdoor lighting that is solar powered, well-designed windows to let lots of sunshine in during the winter, but with screens to keep the house cool in the summer. The walls have good insulation that prevents the house losing heat to the outside, and it uses a solar power to generate energy for the hot water system. It is great to see how people are doing whatever they can to find ways to use renewable green energy that will help to provide a cleaner and greener future free of pollutants.
